Empowering Our Community With Good Health:
Become A Volunteer or Intern
Mustard Seed has limited in-person opportunities for volunteers and interns. If you're looking for a way to get involved and help us with our work, check out the off-site ideas below to hold drives or build kits that benefit our patients.
We hope to have more in-person opportunities for volunteers in fall of 2026 - watch this space!
Volunteer Groups
If you have a group that would like to volunteer, please contact us by calling 336.805.7131. While our group volunteer opportunities on site are limited, we have group projects that can be conducted off-site that would benefit the patients of Mustard Seed. Some Examples include:
- Hosting a "KIT BUILD" to distribute to patients and community members.
- First Aid Kits
- Dental hygiene kits
- Menstrual Hygiene Kits CLICK HERE
- Cold/Flu Kits To download the "Kit Build" guide
- Host a "Packaging Party" - Divide a bulk size bag of dried beans (any type) and divide into smaller bags with 2 to 3 cuts dried beans in each bag. This can also be done with bulk rice or macaroni. Print cooking instructions in English and Spanish (can do 2 sided) & insert in bags.

- Conduct a Diaper Drive - Diapers are a necessity but many of our patients struggle to cover the cost for these on a regular basis. Help a growing family with this donation. All sizes needed.
- Host a Healthy Food Donation Drive for our Healthy Food Pantry - many of our patients face food insecurity and the request for food assistance is growing daily. Donations of healthy food is an ongoing need.
To download the items needed
- Seek donations for fresh fruits and vegetables from local farmers/stores. We host a large "pop-up" food pantry each Monday and on the second Thursday of each month and fresh fruits and vegetables are always needed!
- Host a Medicine Bottle Campaign - Churches, Civic groups and corporations have embraced this creative way to support us. It helps raise awareness and resources for Mustard Seed.
