LICENSED CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKER

Full time position

POSITION SUMMARY: 

The LCSW provides direct assessment, diagnosis formulation, treatment planning, treatment intervention and education to members and/or family members for behavioral healthcare.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBLITIES: 

  • Provides timely and appropriate assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning & treatment intervention of patients.
  • Consults with BHD and/or Psychiatrist on individual patients who do not improve and participate in clinical decision-making for stepped-up care and referral.
  • Conducts initial interviews with patients by eliciting & interpreting the psychological & social meaning of complaints.
  • Provides appropriate selection of treatment modality to patient's presenting problem.
  • Demonstrates expertise in a variety of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy-based treatment methodologies.
  • Determines urgency of patient's need.
  • Provides treatment to children, adolescents, adults, and elderly.
  • Maintains and builds linkages with Guilford County Mental Health, Alcohol & Other Drugs, Social Services, Hospitals, UNCG and NC A & T social work programs, New Hope Community Development Group, Glenwood Together, and other community resources.
  • Serves in a supervisory role with UNCG/NC A&T and or UNCG CH Social Work Program Field team along with Field team coordinator.
  • Participates in Mustard Seed’s Health Outreach Team
  • Prepares reports, intakes, treatment plans, and case summaries and maintains ongoing confidential records for the patients.
  • Provides clinical consultation in an integrated health care environment regarding primary medical provider (including “warm hand-off”), weekly conferences with medical provider and case manager, family interactions, socio-cultural determinants & community resources.
  • Prepares reports on the behavioral health program for the Medical and Executive Directors, community, donors and Mustard Seed Community Health Board.
  • Develops and conducts health education/promotional presentations on health-related topics in community settings.
  • Plans and implements special community events and other programs including arranging for speakers, facilities, resources, and staffing.
  • Hours may include one evening per week.
  • All other duties assigned.

 

 EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Master’s degree in social work required from an accredited college or university.
  • Clinical Social Worker license in the State of North Carolina
  • Must have a National Provider Identifier (NPI), or obtain an NPI, prior to employment start date.
  • Previous clinical responsibility to include crisis intervention, individual and group psychotherapy.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively and sensitively provide care to people from different cultural groups.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English, preferred.
  • Licensure or certification in trauma and addiction care preferred

MEDICAL INTERPRETER/ RECEPTION SUPPPORT SPECIALIST

Overview: The primary role of this position is to provide accurate interpretation and translation of clinical medical information in direct service to the physician and Spanish-speaking patients who cannot speak or understand English. The secondary role is to provide front-desk/reception administrative support. The front-desk, where patients check-in upon arrival, is often the first point of contact for patients, making it central to trust-building and smooth clinic operations.


Core Responsibilities

Primary Role, Interpreter:

· Precisely and accurately interprets critical medical advice and information given by the provider into equivalent terminology in the patient's native language.

· Assists in translating medical text from English on behalf of internal and external customers; may translate patient education information as specifically requested.

· Establishes and maintains quality service and positive interaction with all patients, customers, visitors, health care providers, and clinical employees.

· Assists with patient follow-up as necessary, to include contacting patients with appointment reminders.

· Maintains strict patient confidentiality in accordance with HSC policies and standards.

· Participates in medical interpreter/ translator training.

· Provides occasional services outside of normal working hours on as as-needed basis


Secondary Role, Reception Administrative Support

· Greet patients and other visitors to the clinic in a welcoming and professional manner

· Provide appropriate patient forms with directions for patients at check in

· Assist with patient intake paperwork, sliding scale documentation, and referrals to community resources.

· Answer telephone calls promptly, document communication and route them to appropriate staff

· Handle correspondence

· Schedule appointments and keep track of waiting list.

· Verify and update patient information and insurance when scheduling an appointment

· Provide appropriate patient forms with directions for patients at check-in

· Perform reminder calls to patients for next day appointments

· Review providers schedule and address issues that may impede patient care or clinic flow

· Maintain reports for no shows, numbers/type of visits, recall list, billing information and others as needed

· Manage incoming and outgoing medical records

· Prepare documents for scanning for batch scanning pick up

· Collect co-pays, lab charges, records transaction in medical record system, and perform daily reconciliation of cash receipts

· Process referrals and notify patients of referral appointments

· Keep working area clean and organized

· Ensure adequate inventory of office supplies


Other Responsibilities

· Create a welcoming, trauma-informed environment for patients from diverse backgrounds.

· Identify barriers to care (transportation, language, financial concerns) and connect patients with appropriate resources.

· Support outreach events, health fairs, or community education sessions when needed.

Knowledge/Skills and Abilities:

· Fluency in English and Spanish.

· Strong interpersonal communication and cultural humility.

· Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced clinic environment.

· Comfort with electronic health records (EHR) and basic computer systems.

· Display professional attitude through performance, appearance and demeanor.

· Requires sitting/standing/walking for extended periods as well as stooping, bending and reaching, must be able to lift 25-35 pounds.


Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
