LICENSED CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKER
Full time position

POSITION SUMMARY:
The LCSW provides direct assessment, diagnosis formulation, treatment planning, treatment intervention and education to members and/or family members for behavioral healthcare.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Provides timely and appropriate assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning & treatment intervention of patients.
- Consults with BHD and/or Psychiatrist on individual patients who do not improve and participate in clinical decision-making for stepped-up care and referral.
- Conducts initial interviews with patients by eliciting & interpreting the psychological & social meaning of complaints.
- Provides appropriate selection of treatment modality to patient's presenting problem.
- Demonstrates expertise in a variety of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy-based treatment methodologies.
- Determines urgency of patient's need.
- Provides treatment to children, adolescents, adults, and elderly.
- Maintains and builds linkages with Guilford County Mental Health, Alcohol & Other Drugs, Social Services, Hospitals, UNCG and NC A & T social work programs, New Hope Community Development Group, Glenwood Together, and other community resources.
- Serves in a supervisory role with UNCG/NC A&T and or UNCG CH Social Work Program Field team along with Field team coordinator.
- Participates in Mustard Seed’s Health Outreach Team
- Prepares reports, intakes, treatment plans, and case summaries and maintains ongoing confidential records for the patients.
- Provides clinical consultation in an integrated health care environment regarding primary medical provider (including “warm hand-off”), weekly conferences with medical provider and case manager, family interactions, socio-cultural determinants & community resources.
- Prepares reports on the behavioral health program for the Medical and Executive Directors, community, donors and Mustard Seed Community Health Board.
- Develops and conducts health education/promotional presentations on health-related topics in community settings.
- Plans and implements special community events and other programs including arranging for speakers, facilities, resources, and staffing.
- Hours may include one evening per week.
- All other duties assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Master’s degree in social work required from an accredited college or university.
- Clinical Social Worker license in the State of North Carolina
- Must have a National Provider Identifier (NPI), or obtain an NPI, prior to employment start date.
- Previous clinical responsibility to include crisis intervention, individual and group psychotherapy.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively and sensitively provide care to people from different cultural groups.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English, preferred.
- Licensure or certification in trauma and addiction care preferred

Certified Medical Assistant (Nursing Predominant)

POSITION SUMMARY
The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) is a cross-trained team member responsible for performing a variety of clerical, administrative, and clinical duties in support of quality patient care and efficient clinic operations. The CMA works collaboratively with providers and staff to ensure a positive patient experience and adherence to clinical and organizational standards.
Clerical and Administrative Duties
(May include, but are not limited to:)
- Greet patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
- Answer telephone calls, document messages, and route calls appropriately
- Handle routine correspondence
- Schedule patient appointments
- Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information
- Provide patient forms and instructions at check-in
- Perform appointment reminder calls
- Review provider schedules and address issues affecting clinic flow
- Maintain reports related to no-shows, visit volumes, recalls, billing, and other operational needs
- Manage incoming and outgoing medical records
- Collect co-pays, record transactions, and perform daily cash reconciliation
- Monitor and maintain adequate office supply inventory
Clinical Duties
(May include, but are not limited to:)
- Obtain medical records and test results prior to patient visits
- Escort patients to examination rooms
- Measure and document vital signs, height, weight, BMI, chief complaint, smoking history, and allergies
- Perform clinical screenings and testing, including peak flow, pulse oximetry, diabetic foot exams, vision and hearing screenings, EKGs, and other procedures as directed
- Obtain and update medical history, medication reconciliation, and immunization information
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during visits
- Administer medications and immunizations as directed
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens
- Perform CLIA-waived testing
- Change dressings, remove sutures, perform ear irrigations, and complete other clinical procedures as directed
- Process prescription refill requests according to standing orders and provider direction
- Provide patient and family education
- Facilitate referrals to specialists, community resources, and emergency services as appropriate
- Maintain quality monitoring logs and documentation
- Clean and restock examination rooms
- Clean, disinfect, and sterilize instruments and equipment
- Monitor clinical supply inventory and perform date checks
- Maintain immunization inventories and temperature logs
- Ensure compliance with NCIR and CVMS requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Computer and electronic medical record (EMR) proficiency
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Organization, prioritization, and multitasking abilities
- Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Professional demeanor and work ethic
- HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift 25-35 pounds
- Knowledge of community resources and patient referral services
Education and Certifications
- High school diploma required; some college preferred
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
