Named for our visionary founder and Medical Director, Dr. Elizabeth Mulberry, the Mulberry Society celebrates individuals and families who support Mustard Seed Community Health’s mission with a gift in their estate plans. By including Mustard Seed in your future planning, you’ll help secure the future of our holistic, person-centered healthcare in Guilford County. Your gift will give us the confidence to expand access to high quality care until all of our neighbors have the support they need, no matter what. Your gift will change, improve, and save lives.

Types of Legacy Gifts

Bequests

To make a bequest, you simply need to name Mustard Seed Community Health as a beneficiary in your will. These gifts may be allocated in one of three ways: a specific amount of money, a percentage of the total estate, the remainder of an estate after all other bequests have been paid.

Life insurance beneficiary designations

A simple way to leave a legacy in your planned gift is to name Mustard Seed as the beneficiary of your life insurance policy.

Retirement Plans and Assets

You can also name Mustard Seed as the beneficiary of retirement assets, including individual retirement accounts (IRAs), 401(k)s, 403(b)s, and pensions.

Charitable Lead Trusts

To give through a lead trust, you transfer assets to a trust which makes fixed payments to Mustard Seed for a period of time, after which the assets of the trust are transfered to your beneficiaries.

Generally, Mustard Seed is not able to serve as sole trustee of a Charitable Remainder Trust.
